The club was started at the instigation of Roland Taylor. He arranged a trial ramble to Santon Bridge on 3rd June 1928, during which the club was officially formed. Lectures and socials were organised later that year and fell walks started the year after. From 1931, occasional weekend breaks were organised and from 1967, these became regular events. We now have around 200 members who take part in a wide range of activities: fell walking, visits, holidays, evening talks and social events.
